Lethal Force And Self-Defense Legal Seminar: The Laws Every Gun Owner Must Know

Lethal Force And Self-Defense Legal Seminar:
The Laws Every Gun Owner Must Know

Owning, carrying, and operating a firearm is a grave responsibility. It is truly a tool of last resort. Not knowing the laws pertaining to the lawful usage of guns is not a valid excuse of running afoul of them. Firearm charges are serious and can have the undesired result of stiff fines and lengthy prison sentences.

This information packed three hour seminar is designed to inform participants of not only the laws they must know and obey but will also inform attendees of their rights as gun owners. The agenda will extensively cover the following items:

- Defending Yourself At Home (Castle Doctrine)
- Defending Yourself Outside Home (Stand Your Ground)
- Defense of Others
- Statements To Police & 9-1-1
- Lawful Firearm Purchasing & Transfers
- Lawful Firearm Transportation
- Brandishing & Warning Shots
- MI Concealed Pistol License Law
- Open Carry in Michigan
- Firearm Carry Reciprocity in Other States
- Repeal of Michigan Gun Boards
- Question & Answer

This seminar will be useful for a wide audience: Gun Owners, Home Owners, Business Owners, CPL-Holders, Attorneys, Law Enforcement, and members of the media.

All attendees will receive a specially assembled informational packet for future reference and consultation. This seminar has limited seating - RSVP early.

Brand New Info For 2016

Effective December 1rst of 2015, the County Gun Boards were abolished. As such, there is now a new protocol for handling CPL suspensions, revocations, and reinstatements. This legal seminar will provide the very latest info on the new procedural changes.

Reviews From Last Year's Seminar

"I enjoyed last years, it was very informative, I'm going to check my calendar for this years as well." ~ Jeff Barello

"Already have a CPL? Not sure if you want to get a CPL? Want to learn in more detail about laws on lethal force and self defense in Michigan? I took this class and it is VERY informative. Worth it to know in advance of needing to know the law!" ~ Denise Flinders

"I attended the 2014 Lethal Force Seminar presented by Rick's Firearm Academy.Initially I had thought attending the seminar would just be a "rubber-stamp" documenting my knowledge of Michigan and Federal Firearms law as I had attended numerous NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Courses at my local gun club with the legal portion of the classes presented by our county Head Prosecutor. I humbly ate my portion of crow as I filled numerous notebook pages of notes regarding nuances of the "Stand Your Ground" and "Castle Doctrine" laws not covered by my previous courses. While not required by law, responsible CPL holders should educate themselves about the laws pertaining to the lawful carry of firearms and the use of deadly force. The use of deadly force does not end with the discharge of a firearm. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. I would highly recommend anyone choosing to obtain a CPL and carrying a handgun to attend this seminar." ~ Ron Howard

"Rick's Lethal Force seminar is a great second class to take after getting your CPL. The class really offers an in-depth look at what happens and what you should and should not do after you are required to use lethal force. This is a must have class for anyone who carries a firearm daily, and takes their person protection very seriously. Personal protection isn't just during the life threatening situation, but it's knowing what to do after the fact. This class will teach you what you need to know and give you more peace of mind." ~ John Roehrig

"Excellent program. Very plain to understand and informative. I'm considering taking it again this year if I can find the some spare money. I'm sure Mr Ector will have an even better program put together this year." ~ Gary Powlowski

"Rick Ector and Terry Johnson deliver expert information using current news events, related to home  & personal defense. They presented the topics in a way that everyone in the class could relate to. It is time & money well spent, that may just one day save your life, and keep you out of prison. I will attend again this year." ~ Boomer Qureshi

"I attended this seminar last year, and found it to be incredibly informative, very well presented and even entertaining.  Rick and Terry made everything easy to understand and presented it in an enjoyable format.  I heartily recommend it for anyone who has a CPL or is thinking of getting a CPL.  Also good information for anyone who keeps a gun 'around the house.'"  ~  Dennis Oakes

"I attended the Lethal Force and Self-Defense Legal seminar in 2014. Rick and Terry try to keep it fun and will offer plenty of information for you to digest. There will be plenty of time for questions and to go through scenarios. Even if you know some of the laws  there will be information you probably do not know. I fully recommend this seminar. You will come out freshly reviewed and a bit more educated so you are not that person to drag them into the house. Please do not be that person." ~ Charles Vamos, Jr.

"So, last year Rick Ector told me about this lethal force seminar that he was holding. I had my reservations at first about going because of my full schedule, but I still found the topic to be a very interesting. It was definitely relevant, especially with all of the recent news hoopla regarding self defense and "stand-your-ground." Now I know what many of you are thinking, because it crossed my mind last year before attending. "Why do I need to pay to go to a lethal force seminar? I have my CPL.  I know the law... Right?"

Personally, I consider myself a firearms expert. I have been around, and using firearms, for years. I have had my CPL since my 21st birthday. Furthermore, I also have a degree in Criminal Justice, so what could I possibly learn? Well, I can attest that you can learn a lot from Rick's Lethal Force seminar. If you do not have a CPL, but have guns in the house, you can learn a lot about what to do and what not to do. If you have a CPL, look at it like a continuing education course. Even though you do not have to do one to renew your CPL, you should. Unless you are immersed in the world of guns and self defense on a regular basis, there is NO WAY YOU CAN STAY UP-TO-DATE ON GUN LAWS...PERIOD!

Rick Ector's Lethal Force and Self Defense Seminar is an instructional guide for anyone who wants to know about when and when not to shoot. It is top notch legal advice to keep you informed before an incident, at a fraction of the cost to hire an attorney after the fact. It does not matter if you are an expert or a novice, this seminar is for you. You will have questions, and Rick will answer them in a manner that will stick with you for a long time. See you at the seminar, and Carry On."
