Personal Protection Tips: Don't Assume Witnesses Will Help You

Personal Protection Tips: Don't Assume Witnesses Will Help You - Your personal safety is your job. Do not make the assumption that a bystander will come to your aid. Witnesses are under no legal duty to aid you.

If you are lucky, they may be willing to tell the authorities what they saw when you were attacked. However, being willing to help you after the fact does not in any way - shape or form - give you protection. Thus, before you place yourself in an environment, make sure that it is safe and do not factor the presence of onlookers into your assessment.
