Meme: Keep Calm And Shoot Home-Invaders
Keep Calm And Shoot Home-Invaders
Today's meme was inspired by a recent news report in which avowed anti-gun advocate, former Michigan House Rep., and former Detroit mayoral candidate Lisa Howze was the victim of a home-invasion at her residence.
When the five men allegedly broke into her home, she hid under a bed in an upstairs bedroom and called the
police. She dropped her name during the 911 call hoping that it would speed up police response time. The first unit got there in 20 minutes. The response time for any other citizen may not be as fast - your mileage may vary.
In all, I find this matter ironic as Ms. Howze is reportedly now contemplating a Michigan Concealed Pistol License. In the aforementioned article she was quoted as saying the following,
"The officer told me 'it's time to get my CPL license. "I had resisted for a long time, saying, no I'm not getting a gun, I'm not getting a gun. Now I'm not resisting."
Nothing like a home-invasion to give you clarity on gun ownership and the Second Amendment.

Detroit Michigan CPL Class Instructor to Provide a Free Shooting Lesson for Area Women to Address Rapes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Detroit Michigan CPL Class Instructor offers to provide a free shooting lesson for women.
Detroit, MI, August 11, 2013 --Rick's Firearm Academy of Detroit is announcing that they will provide a free shooting lesson at a southeast Michigan target range to 100 women interested in learning more about firearm safety. There will be no charge for the Firearm Instructor's safety briefing, usage of a firearm, and ammunition.
No prior firearms training or experience is required of the women who desire to take advantage of the lesson. The free shooting lesson offer was the brainchild of Rick Ector, an NRA Approved Firearms Trainer, one year ago after he saw a television newscast of a young woman's body being discovered on an east-side Detroit street. Last year's free firearm training event drew 50 women and Ector hopes to train at least 100 ladies this year's event.
Ector believes that there are many women in southeast Michigan who are curious about firearms and their role in self-defense but are reluctant to investigate due to fears. He said, "If giving women a free lesson by a credentialed professional translates into women just trying it, it'll be a productive use of my time. Just the other day, I saw a stat that over 800 Detroit women have been sexually assaulted by predators this year. Hopefully, more women will make the decision to take on a more active role in their personal protection."
The free shooting lesson will held at the Target Sports II Gun Range - 3240 Orchard Lake Road, Orchard Lake, MI - on Sunday, August 18th, 2013 at 11:00am EST. Interested ladies should RSVP at the following web site address: http://rick9mm.eventbee.com/event?eid=153409155
