Personal Protection Tip: Don't Blindly Buzz People Into Your Apartment Complex. Many multi-unit residence facilities have a buzzer/access system installed that allows entry to visitors without requiring the resident to open the outer doors. As such, a bad guy with malevolent intentions could randomly push buttons until someone unwittingly allows them access.

Furthermore, it is a good idea to train your children to never buzz anyone into the building until it is absolutely certain it is safe to do so for a very limited number of trusted persons.
