Michigan Open Carry Seminar Recap - Saturday, Jan. 29th, 2011

This past Saturday afternoon (January 29th 2011), Michigan Open Carry Inc. (MOC), conducted yet another free Open Carry seminar. The venue this time was the Taylor MI Gander Mountain, whose management/ownership is decidely pro-Open Carry.

The seminar was well attended; roughly 50 visibly gun-toting citizens were present. The presentation was roughly three hours long, which seemed to fly by quickly. MOC lead officers, Scott Webb (President) and Robert Harris (Vice-President), did an awesome job of educating attendees on how to successfully and legally open carry a pistol both with and without a Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).

I've been open carrying for a while and I still seem to manage to pick up a nuance in the laws regarding the lawful carrying of firearm. I plan to have a FREE Open Carry seminar within the city limits of Detroit very soon. Keep your eyes open for an announcement on this blog.

In addition, as always, attending these events is a great way to network and fellowship with persons in the region who OC on a regular basis. Check out some of the pictures that I took from the event.

You should join us at the next event. Visit the MOC web site and become a member!
