Personal Protection Tip: Beware Of Good Samaritans Returning Lost Items

Personal Protection Tip: An old ruse used by predators to emotionally disarm victims involves making a false claim about a lost item. For example, a robber may verbally notify and approach a person about a dropped wallet that obviously belongs to the selected victim.

The victim, motivated by dishonesty and greed, allows the predator to invade his personal space and is promptly attacked. The moral of the story is to vehemently wave off and get away from someone trying to give you something that you didn't lose. Honesty is not only the best policy but it is also the safest course of action.
