How NRA Firearms Instructor Rick Ector Was Robbed In His Own Driveway - Part 11

What Am I Doing Now? - Training Is Still My Passion

My journey in the gun rights community now spans almost 20 years. As you have read, years ago I was ambivalent about guns until I was held-up in my driveway. Well, it did not take long before I made a few changes.

I bought a pistol and obtained my Concealed Pistol License. I spent a lot of time studying personal protection until I made the decision to become an instructor. It did not take long before I became a person who trains citizens to be instructors - Training Counselor.

I then became interested in empowering women. I did not talk about it earlier, but one day I saw a TV news story about a woman's nude and deceased body being found in a field. In the aftermath, I felt the urge to do something. I asked a few firearms instructors I knew to help me train a class of 50 women how to shoot a pistol - for free.

Fast-forward to now, my group of volunteers and sponsors are now preparing for the 13th annual version of this event. Cumulatively, almost 9,000 ladies have been trained for free. The program will top over 10,000 participants this year. Keep watching my social media and I will keep you updated.

(To be continued)
