Personal Protection Tip - Run On Indoor Tracks

Personal Protection Tip - Run On Indoor Tracks

Running is an excellent way to get fit and increase overall fitness. However, when done outdoors it does put runners, especially women, at greater risk. While law enforcement authorities do not track stats on the numbers of assaults and rapes against runners, anecdotally, a quick search over at Google confirms that it is a persistent problem.

Thus, one way to increase personal safety for runners is for them to utilize indoor tracks at local fitness clubs, local community centers, and local schools where they have authorized access. Additionally, running indoors not only provides another layer of protection from would-be muggers and rapists, but it helps to protect against loose dogs on the street and distracted drivers on the road.
