Michigan Personal Protection Tip: Don't Advertise Your Absence on Garbage Collection Day

Michigan Personal Protection Tips - Don't Advertise Your Absence on Garbage Collection Day

If you are going to be out of town during the time period in which your garbage is scheduled to be picked up, make arrangements with a neighbor, family member, or a trusted friend to pull your trash can out to the curb on the appointed day.

If your home is the only one on the block without a can out front, it may serve as a marker to the bad guys that you are not home. In a similar fashion also make sure that you have someone remove your trash can after the garbage on your block has been collected.
