Gun Rights Group Announces FREE Lethal Force Aftermath Seminar

Gun Rights Group Announces FREE Lethal Force Aftermath Seminar

Detroit, MI, September 15th, 2016 -- Legally Armed In Detroit, a gun rights advocacy web site, is announcing that it will provide a free seminar on the consequences and the legal aftermath of using lethal force. The seminar, entitled "Survivor Stories," will be a moderated panel discussion in which the speakers were lawfully armed civilians who were forced to use lethal force. Subject matter will include background info on the violent attack, interaction with the criminal justice system, and lessons learned from the experience.

The free seminar is the brainchild of Rick Ector, an NRA Approved Firearms Trainer, who feels that there is a lack of info to help citizens cope with the uncertainty in the aftermath of defending themselves. Attendees will be taught the possible consequences of using a firearm.

There will be no charge for the seminar which will held at the Gander Mountain store. The address is 14100 Pardee Road, Taylor, Michigan. All registrants can register at the following URL: http://www.eventbee.com/v/rick9mm/event?eid=127942171

Lethal Force Aftermath: Survivor Stories 2

Lethal Force Aftermath: Survivor Stories 2
Hear factual real-life "Survivor Stories" from our latest panel of invited speakers who were forced to defend theirselves with their lawfully carried firearms after being selected for victimization.
Our last "Survivor Stories" panel shared their deeply personal stories before a group of attendees who intently listened to their tales of survival. Most present took detailed notes and asked profound questions to find lessons and strategies to enhance their own personal protection plans.
The last panel discussion and presentation of individual testimonies was predicted to be the only time an event of this type would ever be held. Fortunately, we were able to coax another group of courageous survivors to step forward and share their experiences to possibly help other law-abiding citizens.
Each of our invited speakers are not employed by any law enforcement agencies. As such, they are "regular" every-day citizens such as yourself who managed to survive the worse 60 seconds of their lives.
Listen to our panelists individually share their mindset and level of awareness before they were attacked and compare that with the lessons they learned in the aftermath.
Discover the realities of being attacked and how they each managed to survive their lethal force encounters. Info shared at this seminar can help you survive, if you are ever targeted by purveyors of violence.
Also, you will hear their individual accounts of what happened in the aftermath. Our confirmed panelists have widely varying experiences. One panelist was severely injured and managed to respond with a firearm despite being shot four times, another was forced to use defensive force against an estranged relation, and another used a show of force to come to the aid of a stranger who was being savagely butchered with a knife.
Additional speakers may be added to the panel as their availability becomes clearer as we approach the seminar date.
The panelists will then answer your questions in a moderated format.
This seminar is the latest educational module in our Lethal Force Aftermath series. Due to the difficulty of finding survivors of lethal force encounters willing to publicly speak about their experiences, it is possible that this event may never be duplicated. If there is another installment of this series, it will only happen if we can find another group of survivors who want to share their stories. As such, this event is one-of-a-kind and will never be repeated.
Thus, if you are a serious student of lethal force and want to avail yourself of timely and relevant info on the subject, this seminar is a true "must see" event. We heard nothing but rave reviews of the prior presentation.
Furthermore, attorney Terry Johnson will also be present to address and clarify any issues about lethal force which may be raised during this event.
The Seminar is free and parking is plentiful. However, to limit the number of attendees to aptly suit the venue, a FREE online RSVP is required. Please do not register if you can't attend this one-of-a-kind event.
The seminar will be held on Sunday, September 18th, at the Taylor Gander Mountain - 14100 Pardee Road, Taylor MI 48180 - between 11am and 2pm.
Testimonials From other modules in our ongoing "Lethal Force Aftermath" Seminars:
"The event was great. I personally am much more informed because of the seminar. All of the panel did a excellent job and gave really good insight." ~ Mr. Edward L. Smith
"This past Saturday's seminar was excellent..the great acting skits knowing what to say & not what to say to the police...the bail bonds information & the firearms legal protection..yes I'd rate this event 10 out of 10..all the information was very beneficial so many people have no idea what they should actually do after a self defense shooting..great event can't wait for more future projects." Mr. Derrick D. Adams
" The seminar was very informative on dealing with the aftermath of a self defense shooting. I really learned some helpful information regarding jail bondsmen, and legal protection agency. The acting was helpful also." ~ Mr. Thomas Jeter
"I thought the seminar was more than worth my time. The role-playing of the victims going through the aftermath of a shooting was an excellent way to educate the attendees on things to expect and the consequences of being unprepared for them. Having Law Enforcement, Lawyers, and Bail Bondsmen explaining the real world situation of being a victim of violent crime and having to use force to defend oneself or another and then dealing with the situation to minimize your liability both criminally and civilly was priceless. The idea of being able to have affordable insurance to cover the substantial costs involved in defending myself in the aftermath of a violent encounter will make me sleep better at night." ~ Mr. Ron Howard
"Good seminar covering the practical and logistical aftermath of a self defense shooting. Started with an amusing skit which outlined the timeline of events prior to an incident, through the interview, arrest, arraignment, and bail arrangements. The legal and financial implications of poor decision making and "excited utterances" were laid out in a much more engaging and clear way than the standard dry, death by PowerPoint. The perspectives of each group involved, police, lawyers, bail bond people and we the armed general public were addressed and ample QA was allowed. Well worth your time even if there was a fee, if only for the contact information given, especially the best Firearm Self Defense Ins program I've seen to date. A poignant reminder or a slap to the face of the unwary that self defense doesn't begin and end with a life threatening incident. Preparation for the unthinkable does not start with strapping on iron nor end with drawing it." ~ Mr. Wong Guy
"Thanks for having a free seminar. I learned so many valuable tidbits about the law and what "Not" to do. I really enjoyed the way the material was presented. Highly entertaining and educational. Thank You." ~ Ms. Laura Tolian
" I thought that it was a great idea to use a skit that walked us through a defensive use of a firearm from start to finish and then let each contributor give their presentation. I personally did not know much about how bail bonds worked. I was also glad to have the opportunity to talk to the folks from Firearms Legal Protection. I currently have a USCCA program and I am switching to FLP because in my opinion it is a superior product. I signed up for the family plan, and no, there was no high pressure sales pitch. I had been researching the different options for a while and this FREE seminar gave me the opportunity to ask questions and get them answered. Well worth the cost of admission." ~ Mr. Jim Zinke
"Seminar was great! Very good place for questions and answers for an encounter. Rick, as normal, I wasn't disappointed. Rick had An Officer, 2 Lawyers, and 2 Bondsmen to field questions. It's amazing the difference in perspective you get depending on who you ask. Officer Joe seems super honest and down to earth. Terry and (can't remember the other name) the two lawyers were point on. The two women bondsmen seemed genuine and helpful. Lastly, I'd like to thank Rick for his time and dedication to the cause. I suggest anyone who has carries a gun to attend the next one. Not only do they offer advice, but there is an affordable insurance you can purchase as well. I purposely stayed away from that until the end because I feel Rick or Allen could explain it much better then I can. Thanks again guys!" ~ Mr. Kurt Flonta
"The donuts were great. I enjoyed the entire time from start to finish. Q&A were right on point with some really great questions being asked of all members of the panel. The only thing I would like to see expanded (I talked to Joe about this) is the psychosomatic things a person faces when put into a shoot / don't shoot situation & what the human mind / body go thru during the event of a shooting. This event was for sure a 10 / 10 - true story. It was really great to see fellow A2 supporters in our firearms community." ~ Mr. Matthew Oldt
The seminar will be held on Sunday, September 18th, at the Taylor Gander Mountain - 14100 Pardee Road, Taylor MI 48180 - between 11am and 2pm.
The Seminar is free and parking is plentiful. However, to limit the number of attendees to aptly suit the venue, a FREE online RSVP is required. Please do not register if you can't attend this one-of-a-kind event.

FREE Michigan Firearm Legal Update: Laws Gun Owners Need To Know

FREE Michigan Firearm Legal Update: Laws Gun Owners Need To Know

Legally Armed In Detroit (LAID) and the Law Office of Terry Johnson have announced the date of this year's Michigan Firearm Legal Update seminar. The three hour seminar will be held on the evening of Wednesday, September 14th, 2016 at 6pm.

The venue will be the Gander Mountain store in Novi, MI. The address is 43825 W. Oaks Drive, Novi, MI 48377.

In the past, this seminar has only been offered once per year at a tuition cost of $100. This is the first time that this info has been provided FREE of charge! Further, there is no guarantee that it will be offerred again without cost. If you have previously considered attending this seminar in the past, it is a no-brainer. RSVP for this FREE seminar NOW!

INTENDED AUDIENCE
- Persons with firearms in the home to be used for home defense.
- Persons with CPLs who carry handguns for self-defense.
- Persons who want to learn more about Open Carry.
- Persons in law enforcement who wish to widen their knowledge of gun law.
- Persons desiring to know more about the law before buying a firearm.
- Persons who report stories in the media and seek to be more accurate.

This seminar will cover the laws that every gun owner must know. In-depth coverage of Lethal Force Use, Defensive Firearm Use, CPL Law, Open Carry, and Preparing your legal strategy in the aftermath of a shooting incident.

In contrast, the legal info in a conforming and legit CPL Class is only an hour long. If you toss in the fact that some of the providers of this info are either unqualified to present it or, as in the case of law enforcement officers, you may receive either bad info or info that does not inform you of your rights.

For example, how many law enforcement instructors will tell you to not make a statement to them until you have talked to a lawyer? Very few. How many times have you heard a police officer say that can't open carry if you have a CPL? If the only legal knowledge you have about lethal force came from your CPL Class, there is a great chance that there is much you need to know before you are ever forced to defend yourself.

After the seminar, you will better understand the pertinent legal issues behind some of the biggest lethal force and self defense cases from the headlines in the media:
- The Detroit Santa Claus Shooting
- The MO Mike Brown Case
- The NY Eric Gardner Case
- The Dearborn Heights Tim Wafer/Renisha McBride Case
- The Detroit Adaisha Miller Fish-Fry Shooting
- The Detroit Jason Weekly/Ayanna Jones Case
- The Florida George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin Case

No one looks forward to using lethal force in a self-defense event. However, your safety, security, and freedom would be best served by knowing the law before you are forced to defend yourself, your family, and your home.

Many folks quoted in the media often provide bad and erroneous info. This bad info could lead to criminal charges, a conviction, incarceration, and a civil judgement against you.

The best defense you can mount is not being charged in the first place for ensuring your safety and the safety of your family. A serious criminal case could easily cost thousands of dollars, loss of time from work, and unbearable stress associated with the lack of certainty about your future. This seminar can save you time, money, and your future.

STUDENT REVIEWS FROM LAST YEAR

"I attended the 2014 Lethal Force Seminar presented by Rick's Firearm Academy.Initially I had thought attending the seminar would just be a "rubber-stamp" documenting my knowledge of Michigan and Federal Firearms law as I had attended numerous NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Courses at my local gun club with the legal portion of the classes presented by our county Head Prosecutor. I humbly ate my portion of crow as I filled numerous notebook pages of notes regarding nuances of the "Stand Your Ground" and "Castle Doctrine" laws not covered by my previous courses. While not required by law, responsible CPL holders should educate themselves about the laws pertaining to the lawful carry of firearms and the use of deadly force. The use of deadly force does not end with the discharge of a firearm. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. I would highly recommend anyone choosing to obtain a CPL and carrying a handgun to attend this seminar." ~ Ron Howard

"I enjoyed last years, it was very informative, I'm going to check my calendar for this years as well." ~ Jeff Barello

"Already have a CPL? Not sure if you want to get a CPL? Want to learn in more detail about laws on lethal force and self defense in Michigan? I took this class and it is VERY informative. Worth it to know in advance of needing to know the law!" ~ Denise Abraham Flinders

"Rick's Lethal Force seminar is a great second class to take after getting your CPL. The class really offers an in-depth look at what happens and what you should and should not do after you are required to use lethal force. This is a must have class for anyone who carries a firearm daily, and takes their person protection very seriously. Personal protection isn't just during the life threatening situation, but it's knowing what to do after the fact. This class will teach you what you need to know and give you more peace of mind." ~ John Roehrig

"Excellent program. Very plain to understand and informative. I'm considering taking it again this year if I can find the some spare money. I'm sure Mr Ector will have an even better program put together this year." ~ Gary Powlowski

"Rick Ector and Terry Johnson deliver expert information using current news events, related to home & personal defense. They presented the topics in a way that everyone in the class could relate to. It is time & money well spent, that may just one day save your life, and keep you out of prison. I will attend again this year." ~ Boomer Qureshi

"I attended this seminar last year, and found it to be incredibly informative, very well presented and even entertaining. Rick and Terry made everything easy to understand and presented it in an enjoyable format. I heartily recommend it for anyone who has a CPL or is thinking of getting a CPL. Also good information for anyone who keeps a gun 'around the house.'" ~ Dennis Oakes

"I attended the Lethal Force and Self-Defense Legal seminar in 2014. Rick and Terry try to keep it fun and will offer plenty of information for you to digest. There will be plenty of time for questions and to go through scenarios.
Even if you know some of the laws there will be information you probably do not know. I fully recommend this seminar. You will come out freshly reviewed and a bit more educated so you are not that person to drag them into the house. Please do not be that person." ~ Charles Vamos, Jr.

"So, last year Rick Ector told me about this lethal force seminar that he was holding. I had my reservations at first about going because of my full schedule, but I still found the topic to be a very interesting. It was definitely relevant, especially with all of the recent news hoopla regarding self defense and “stand-your-ground.” Now I know what many of you are thinking, because it crossed my mind last year before attending. “Why do I need to pay to go to a lethal force seminar? I have my CPL. I know the law… Right?”

Personally, I consider myself a firearms expert. I have been around, and using firearms, for years. I have had my CPL since my 21st birthday. Furthermore, I also have a degree in Criminal Justice, so what could I possibly learn? Well, I can attest that you can learn a lot from Rick’s Lethal Force seminar. If you do not have a CPL, but have guns in the house, you can learn a lot about what to do and what not to do. If you have a CPL, look at it like a continuing education course. Even though you do not have to do one to renew your CPL, you should. Unless you are immersed in the world of guns and self defense on a regular basis, there is NO WAY YOU CAN STAY UP-TO-DATE ON GUN LAWS…PERIOD!

Rick Ector’s Lethal Force and Self Defense Seminar is an instructional guide for anyone who wants to know about when and when not to shoot. It is top notch legal advice to keep you informed before an incident, at a fraction of the cost to hire an attorney after the fact. It does not matter if you are an expert or a novice, this seminar is for you. You will have questions, and Rick will answer them in a manner that will stick with you for a long time.

See you at the seminar, and Carry On."
Dr. Anthony J Cole PharmD, MPH, MBA, MS, RPh
