Michigan Personal Protection Tips: Exercise Discretion About The Company You Keep

A vehicle after it has been customized and personalized can be informally used as a form of identification of the driver. If the vehicle's owner has either questionable character or has enemies who seek to harm him, any person in that vehicle could be at risk for an attack by a determined third person.

Yesterday, it was reported in the media that a man was shot dead in a Detroit liquor store's parking lot after two assailants allegedly fired upon him at least 37 times. It was mentioned in the broadcast that it may have been a case of mistaken identity, as the driver did not own the vehicle. He had allegedly borrowed it to run an errand to the local neighborhood store.

As such, you should exercise discretion about the company you keep, even if the two of you are amiable. Enemies of your friend care as much about you as they care about the person they are trying to harm.
