Michigan Personal Protection Tip: Install Residential Security Shutters

Michigan Personal Protection Tips: Install Residential Security Shutters.

If you study home security, you already know that there are primarily two ways for bad guys to enter your home: through a door or through a window.

Most residences, can adequately secure a door if several options are simultaneously deployed: metal door frame, solid window-less door, dead-bolt lock with a long throw, strong face plate with three inch screws, and metal bar propped under the handle as a brace.

Securing windows, however, is not so easy. There are numerous things you can do with windows to make them difficult for a bad guy to use to enter your home, but at the end of the day he can still use an object or a tool to burst through it.

Granted, if you live in a neighborhood with active and alert neighbors and live in a city with a police department that is known for fast response times, a predator won't risk such a brazen method of entry. In cities with a challenged police department, the only practical way to keep bad guys out of a home may be to install and utilize residential security shutters.

The shutters can be customized to fit any size window and are produced in a variety of colors to suit any person's taste. It may be "over-kill" but it will keep the bad guys out of your home.
