Michigan Firearms FAQ: Are There Any Places Where I Can Have My Firearm Cleaned?

Ask The Michigan Firearms Instructor
Q: For those of us who either don't have time, don't like to, or don't know how to clean/maintain our firearms, are there places that offer this service?

A: Yes, there are resources available to either teach you how to clean your firearm or offer to clean it for you. I would first check with your favorite firearms instructor or neighborhood gun range for availability. I offer this service for $35.

As you are probably aware, you "should" clean your firearm after every time that you use it, except immediately after defending yourself with it. As such, you will need to at least clean your firearm monthly if you are adequately maintaining your shooting ability.

Laws covering self-defense, lethal force, firearms, and the Michigan Concealed Pistol License and their enforcement are always subject to change due to laws being amended, politics conducted in the Prosecutor's Office, and election results at all levels of government.
