Detroit Michigan CCW Classes Instructor Offers A Solution To City's Rapist Problem

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Detroit, Michigan – Jan. 17, 2011 – Rick Ector, a National Rifle Association (NRA) Credentialed Firearms Trainer based in Detroit Michigan, is offering a solution to the city's rapist problem that he says is not being discussed publicly.

The Detroit Police Department (DPD) has confirmed that a single rapist on the east-side of the city has attacked eight different women since January 1rst. A litany of measures have been adopted, such as citizen patrols, allowing women to wait for buses at police stations, and admonishing women to be aware of their surroundings. None of the aforementioned tactics has stopped any rapes.

Ector believes that politics by DPD is keeping them from suggesting that women start legally carrying firearms for protection against rape. He stated, "The police department doesn't want to undermine their gun buy-back program, in which citizens are being urged to turn in their firearms for an insulting low price. The premise of this scheme, which has never worked anywhere, is that guns are evil. For them - DPD - to suggest that women arm themselves would be 'shooting their argument' in the foot."

Rick Ector is a National Rifle Association credentialed Firearms Trainer, who provides Michigan CCW Class training in Detroit for students at his firearms school - Rick's Firearm Academy of Detroit. Ector is a recognized expert in firearm safety and has been featured extensively in the national and local media: Associated Press, UPI, NRAnews, Guns Digest, Tactical-Life, The Truth About Guns, The Politics Daily, Fox News Detroit, The Detroit News, The Detroit Examiner, WJLB, WGPR, and the UrbanShooterPodcast.
